What
is Family Life Education?: As defined by NCFR (the head of Family Life
Education), Family Life Education is a "preventative and educational
activities including program development, implementation, evaluation, teaching,
training, and research related to individual and family well-being." In
order to be a Family Life Educator, you must have taken classes in ten content areas
involving families including, Families in Society, Internal Dynamics of
Families, Human Development, Human Sexuality, Interpersonal Relationships,
Family Resource Management, Parent Education, Family Law and Policy, and
Marriage Education.
As Family Life Educators we are looking to educate in order to prevent the decay of the family. We are devoted to keeping families happy and healthy by creating strong family relationships. Family Life Education takes an educational rather than therapeutic approach.
